Bloody-Disgusting is Talking Carnies

July 3rd, 2008

Bloody-Disgusting Logoyou can check out the brand new trailer for Brian Corder’s Carnies, which stars Lee Perkins, Reggie Bannister, Chris Staviski and Doug Jones. Sawdust in the Blood used to be a Carnie compliment…not a description of a crime scene. There are a thousand sideshows playing thousands of small towns in 1936 when the Knuckles Brothers Show rolls into yet another town, ready to delight and dazzle the town folk with amazing acts and puzzling oddities. For the full synopsis and pics click the title above.” - Brad Miska

Staci Layne Wilson talks to Brian Corder and Reggie Bannister

June 3rd, 2008

Horror.com Staci Layne Wilson“Reggie Bannister: Well, Carnies is a 1936 period piece and we’ve been very fortunate because all our set stuff came from HBO’s Carnivale.

Who would have thought, you know? And we have a costumer who is really great. Basically, it’s about a carnival that comes to town in this little dust bowl kind of town. I actually play a pretty hard assed cop/detective and generally when the carnivals came to town they would have to buy off the authorities, so I take a disgusting sum of money from them to look the other way… so that like their cooch girls and stuff can do a little bit more and basically all I’m trying to do is make sure that all the carnie stuff doesn’t spill over into my town. That’s all I’m really caring about. But what really happens is, these carnies start dying horrible deaths. So it’s kind of a thriller, mystery, and horror.” - from Staci Layne Wilson Interview

Fangoria Interviews Carnies Director Brian Corder

December 5th, 2006

“While Doug Jones has been winning raves for playing the titular faun in PAN’S LABYRINTH, his third collaboration with Guillermo del Toro, the longtime genre performer has also been devoting his time to smaller-scale fare. The actor who portrayed Abe Sapien in HELLBOY and essays the Silver Surfer in next year’s FANTASTIC 4 sequel recently took a role (pictured) in the upcoming circus-of-horrors feature CARNIES, and director Brian Corder has nothing but praise for him. “Working with Doug Jones was a fantastic and rewarding experience,” Corder tells Fango.” - Michael Gingold
